Evolve: Master Data Governance

Case Studies

Having an effective information management framework in place is key to achieving optimal data integrity, which in turn is critical in realizing more value from the use of information to achieve better safety and efficiency throughout the asset lifecycle. Our team of asset data management specialists have worked alongside our clients’ information management teams to implement and ensure effective up-take of enterprise-wide information management framework including asset data models.

  • We have various oil and gas operators creating engineering data management standards and supporting documentation.
  • We have delivered a pilot of a cloud-based information standards management tool for a major oil and gas operator in Australia.
  • We assisted a large Russian oil and gas operator to develop an information management framework to be used to clarify information handover requirements from a number of contractors.

  • Delivered a data governance model which identifies the way that data is created, manipulated and measured as it flows from concept through construction, commissioning and operations. Data governance model is a key success factor to having reliable and integrated asset data.
  • Established an equipment class library as a core element to the data governance model. The class library provides not only the scope for a project through the different phases but also identifies the final project handover requirements. Defining a class library allows for more effective system integration and is the key to the implementation of a data-centered project and operation.
